Ms. Debjani Chakrabarti has been the Chief Executive Officer of REC Power Distribution Company Limited since 24.04.2018. She is an Indian Administrative Service Officer of 2002 batch from Odisha cadre. She did M Phil. from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. She is also holding the position of Executive Director in REC Limited since 11.04.2018 and looking after State Sector Power Financing across the value Chain (Transmission, Distribution and Generation Projects), Human Resources, Corporate Communication and Official Language.

Prior to joining REC Limited, she has served at forefront in the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways for many seminal initiatives like Hybrid Annuity model (re-balancing of risks between Authority and private entity), Toll-Operate-Transfer model for monetization of completed highway assets, One time fund infusion for completing languishing projects, issuance of rupee-denominated Masala Bond for raising capital from FIs & 100% equity divestment post 2 years from COD etc. and also worked as Project Director for World Bank Assisted Projects for Reforms in Transport sector. She has also served as Deputy Secretary (State Taxes), Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, Government of India.

Prior to her central stints, she has served for 11 years in the State of Odisha and held various important positions in the Government of Odisha as SDM at Koraput and Rayagada; DM & Collector at Jharsuguda & Keonjhar and as Additional Secretary to Government of Odisha, Water Resources Department cum Managing Director of Odisha Lift Irrigation Corporation Limited, where she has implemented large-scale renovation of irrigation systems across the State.
